GROUPS - CARING

Teleministry

Teleministry
We care by connecting with the people of Port Nelson United Church by phone. Everyone receives at least two phone calls every year for support, for a listening ear, for help and for community – and it is all completely confidential.

Every moment the phone calls are being made, someone else in the congregation is holding this ministry in prayer. If there is a need for a visit, whether from one of the ministers, from a Visiting Elder or from a volunteer bringing soup, casseroles or cookies, it is arranged.

It has been our passion for 25 years – so far. May you be blessed through our caring.

Prayer Group

Prayer Group
Every Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. the prayer group meets. We believe that prayer is an exceedingly powerful way to connect with each other, with God and with the wider community as we grow spiritually.

We keep strict confidentiality as, in the following week, we daily lift up in prayer those in need. All of this happens in an atmosphere filled with shared laughter, shared tears and, of course, shared prayer. There are even abundant hugs – if you are so inclined – since all are welcome.
