Rainbow Connection. 2009-2010 Theme: "The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control"
"Rotation and Lesson Goals -
The "Fruit of the Spirit" is the spontaneous work of the Holy Spirit in us. The Spirit helps produce these characteristics that are found in the nature of Christ. Through faith and commitment as Christians we strive to live out Jesus' teaching in the new commandment to love God and our neighbours.
This year our congregation is taking as its theme "Deepening our Faith and Widening our Connections". Together we hope to look at ways that we can build our community of faith recognizing the gifts of all those gathered here. In the Rainbow Connection there are opportunities for everyone - big and small and we plan to work co-operatively - parents, grandparents, children, youth and other adult members of our congregation to provide the best experience possible.
We are now on the second year of our 6 year curriculum and have revamped it to meet the needs of our current "crop" of children. We will again be using "The Family Story Bible" written by Ralph Milton (and given as a gift to all of our babies as they are baptized) as a resource for telling and retelling the Bible stories.

Sunday School Rotation and Lesson Goals
Outline of Morning
Children gather downstairs to check in and then go with their "shepherd" to their activity centre
They are welcomed and told a bit about the plan for the day. They have a time to introduce themselves (through some sort of circle game), an important part of the morning
The children hear the story (read or told) and the activity begins
The morning finishes with prayer
