This is a very special evening. On December 8, 2007 at 7:30 PM CBC Radio Personality - Laurie Brown host of 'The Signal', joined by our Port Nelson readers, musicians and friends will captivate us with a dramatic reading of the story 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens. This reading brings together the pleasure of hearing a good story, the joy of music of the season, and the inspired energy of Port Nelson to make their community a better place by helping the 'No Charge Christmas Store' at Wesley Urban Ministries.

Tickets are $12 each, or $32 for Christmas Dinner & Dickens (advance tickets only - dinner is at 5:00 PM in the Lloyd Auditorium, with a special performance during dessert by the Port Nelson Youth Drama Club) and tickets are available, at the door, in advance from the Church office and after our church services in the lower Narthax. Proceeds to the Wesley Urban Ministries "No Charge Christmas Store". Please bring a non perishable food item for the Burlington Food Bank.

Few events hosted by CBC Radio are as eagerly anticipated or as warmly received as the readings of A Christmas Carol. The readings bring together the pleasure of hearing a good story, the joy of music of the season, and the inspired energy of those who want to make their community a better place. We thank the CBC for their generous support of "A Christmas Carol"

Charles Dickens has probably had more influence on the way that we celebrate Christmas today than any single individual in human history except one.
