Music is an essential part of the worship experience at Port
Nelson. Opportunities are provided for vocalists and instrumentalists
to contribute their musical talents.
Following in a tradition over the past 50 years, Port Nelson’s
Music Ministry has presented concerts such as BACH to BOOGIE
with the Gerald Fagan Singers, the Messiah, by the Georgian
Bay Concert Choir and many others. The concerts reach out to
the wider community through music!
Richard
Hansen, Director of Music
Originally from Windsor, Ontario Richard
Hansen began formal organ studies at the age of thirteen.
His tutelage includes Victor Batten, David Palmer - University
of Windsor, Paul Hale –Royal School of Church Music,
Addington Palace, Douglas Reed - University of Indiana, Ian
Sadler - Stratford and Helga Hoffman - Stuttgart, Germany.
Richard also studied choral conducting with Richard Householder
- University of Windsor, Dr. Lional Dakes - England, John
Washburn – Vancouver and Gerald Fagan – London.
New members of the musical choirs are always welcome. The
choir meeting times are noted below.
